Antivirus Review – Which Antivirus Software Should You Use?

If you’re looking for an easy complete antivirus program to secure all your devices and online activities, there aren’t a lot of better options than Avast Free Antivirus. Its malware detection rate is to par with the top in our tests, and other features like a password manager along with a file shredder and tune up tools are available. However, the program does consume memory and can cause slowdown when analyzing large files or running programs.

Avast’s paid versions are more expensive but offer some nice extras such as parental controls, and a great browser extension that lets you protect your privacy. Cloud storage is also part of and can be used to backup files or to create an emergency restore point. There’s a wide range of security suites on offer starting from the entry-level Antivirus Plus to the flagship Total Security. There’s also a ransomware-specific security as well as Sandboxes that can be used imp source to evaluate suspicious apps.

Kaspersky’s products are all essentially variations of the same program. This is a different approach from other premium antivirus software. The main difference is that the more powerful suites include additional options, like a password manager as well as an in-built VPN. They also provide support for more devices. A basic subscription provides security for one computer, and up to five on the premium end.

Sophos’AV-Home provides a decent level of security at a low cost and its most recent version was a success in our lab tests. It’s not as feature-rich like some of the other options but its minimal interface is great for new users. If you’re looking to add more functionality, you can extend the home product to cover up to 10 devices.
